  13.    Simple, really.  In full duplex transmission, data can flow in
  14. both directions simultaneously.  In half duplex transmission, data
  15. can flow in only one direction at a time.  There's a state between
  16. these, usually called asymmetric full duplex, in which data can flow
  17. in both directions, but at different rates.
